This is a trailer analysis of the film Creed (2015), a sport drama movie starring Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. It's target audience is boxing enthusiasts, and fans of the prequels to this film, Rocky (1976). It's secondary audience can be fans of the individual actors, with their famous reputation and award-winning movies.

This instantly introduces the actor and interests fans of this actor with his famous reputation, as well as displaying his heavy built physique showing his dedication to the role and the professionalism and realism taking into the boxing aspect. Through his intense facial expression, the trailer sets up this trailer with a tense dramatic tone with mise-en-scene. The slow-paced editing, dark title shots and fade to black transitions are conventions of drama genre trailer, and add to the tension and drama. It is also introduced that the main character is the famous boxing champion friend of Rocky in the prequels, creating the vital link between this movie and the loved Rocky series, with the target of hooking the fans of the series and fans of the character's father.

Then the introduction of Sylvester Stallone, former star of the prequels as Rocky Balboa, definitely hooks in fans of the prequels, and makes this movie another chance to see their favourite boxer on screen. There are then fast shots of training with Rocky and the boxing match as the soundtrack rises and the atmosphere of excitement increases. Then a final shot of the main character running which resembles the training scene of Rocky, interesting fans of prequels even further. Finally the soundtrack stops to reveal the title of Creed and interest audience to go watch the movie. A last scene with wisdom from Rocky and a training Creed, it sends the message that this movie is not separatefrom the other series, and you will see a different side to Rocky Balboa, exciting fans of prequels. It ends with the date of the movie's release, notifying the audience who are now extremely interested in the movie.
